This week has certainly not gone to plan! We had service problems with our Spectrum internet which has kept the campus struggling to communicate! We believe that after multiple service calls we will have full service restored before tomorrow. The boiler that heats the Parish Life Center (where our cafeteria is located) is still being serviced. It looks like the boiler is able to function, but there appears to be a leak(s) in the steam lines which is preventing the system from functioning properly. We have established a temporary cafeteria area for the time being while preschool and kindergarten will use their classrooms for lunch. Thanks for your concerns and your patience while we work to get things back to normal. We will give updates as we make progress.
PLEASE NOTE: Trivia Night has been postponed from this Saturday 1/27/24 because of the loss of heat in the Parish Life Center (cafeteria). Stay tuned for the new date for trivia night.
Please do not forget to tell your neighbors and friends about the upcoming Open House this Sunday 1/28/24 (from 2-4 PM) which coincides with the start of Catholic Schools Week. Remember that students are encouraged to attend Mass (8:30 am or 10:30 am) that day at our parish and those wearing their uniforms to Mass will be rewarded with an out of uniform pass to use at school (any day but Mass Day). As always, for the Open House, we love to have parent volunteers to lead tour groups/families around that day. Your personal experiences at the school go a long way in helping families decide to join our school. If interested in helping (even if it is just to help us set up), please reach out to the office before the 28th.
Several of the students have let me know they are ready for the challenge next week to stuff my office with non-perishable food items to donate to the Amen House as part of our week long Catholic Schools Week service project. All the items brought in will be placed into my office with the goal of stuffing me out of the office and into the hallway.
This Saturday, 1/27/24, the students also have a chance to show their school spirit and earn an out of uniform pass by attending the middle school basketball games at Lexington Catholic High School. The details are down below. I am sure that the players and cheerleaders would love to see their friends/classmates come out and cheer the teams on!
Thanks to those that have been helping and donating for the Gala. I would also like to encourage everyone to support our Gala Fundraiser (held this year on March 16th). Besides attending an evening of fun with adults, you can also support us by making donations for the silent auction. Gift cards and fun craft items or game tickets are all easy and desirable donations for others to bid on. Reach out to Jess Manning and Stefanie Adams for more information or questions and you can drop off any donations at the school or parish office.
Did you forget to order your yearbook last year? That's no problem. We have about 15 extras that are for sale. They will be on a first come first serve basis. Please email the office at [email protected] if you would like to purchase one.
